The Writers in the Spotlight – Book & Literary Fair

A Saint Lucian Book & Literary Fair is a pioneering initiative that celebrates Saint Lucia’s rich literary heritage while fostering a culture of writing, reading, and collaboration. We invite all stakeholders to join us in making this inaugural event a success as we honor the past, inspire the present, and shape the literary future of Saint Lucia.

In celebrating Saint Lucia’s literary heritage, the Hunter J. Francois library is proud to host the inaugural Writers in the Spotlight: A Saint Lucian Book & Literary Fair. This event is an integral part of the Nobel Laureate Festival 2025, a time
when the nation honors its two Nobel Laureates: Sir Arthur Lewis, the economist, and Sir Derek Walcott, the poet and playwright. Both luminaries embody the excellence and creativity that this book fair seeks to celebrate.

The fair will spotlight Saint Lucian authors—both emerging and seasoned —from the island and the diaspora, representing all genres of writing. This aligns with the library’s mission to inspire and engage the community
through education, literature, and cultural expression.
