Shantelle Smith is a practicing Barrister and Solicitor, called to the Bar in Alberta (2022), Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. She brings a diverse legal background spanning real estate, wills and estates, civil litigation, family law, and corporate matters.
After completing her undergraduate studies at Carleton University, Ms. Smith pursued her legal education at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. Her international education and multi-jurisdictional practice provide her with a unique perspective in serving clients across Canada’s varied legal landscapes.
Of Jamaican heritage, Ms. Smith is deeply committed to community service and advocacy. She is the co-founder of Th.I.N.K. Meet Ups, an initiative designed to connect and empower Black professionals through networking and mutual support. Her leadership extends to several boards across Alberta and the Northwest Territories, where she actively contributes to community development.
As a mother, Ms. Smith is passionate about creating positive change in her community, not only for her young family but for future generations. Her commitment to shaping an inclusive environment combines with her legal expertise to make meaningful contributions to society.
