Rebecca Visscher

Rebecca Visscher is a dedicated community strategist with over 15 years of experience in client and stakeholder relations, collaborative partnerships, and public service. As a Partnership Strategist with the City of Edmonton’s Community Services Department, she leverages her expertise in strategic planning, policy development, and project management to strengthen civic partnerships, promote equity, and enhance service delivery across the city.

Her professional background includes serving as Policy and Communications Advisor to Councillor Scott McKeen, where she analyzed complex municipal issues, facilitated public engagement, and shaped policy initiatives that reflected diverse community perspectives. Rebecca’s earlier work with the Lurana Shelter Society deepened her commitment to social equity and trauma-informed community development.

A strong communicator with experience in facilitation, research, and gender-based analysis (GBA+), Rebecca is recognized for her inclusive leadership and ability to bridge policy and practice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta and has completed specialized training in Diversity & Inclusion, Advanced Psychological First Aid for Complex Trauma, and Historic Trauma & Aboriginal Client Service.

Beyond her professional roles, Rebecca contributes her time as a Director and Committee Chair with multiple community organizations, including the Youth Empowerment and Support Services and the Art Mentorship Society of Alberta. Her work consistently reflects a passion for building collaborative, safe, and inclusive communities.
