Okama Ekpe is a visionary leader, advocate, and community builder dedicated to advancing equity, empowerment, and opportunity for people of African and Caribbean descent. With a lifelong passion for social justice and cultural development, she has worked across sectors—government, non-profit, education, and international development—to promote inclusive policies and strengthen the voices of marginalized communities.

A strong believer in the power of collaboration, Okama has led initiatives that connect people of African and Caribbean heritage through education, leadership training, and cross-cultural engagement. Her work focuses on dismantling systemic barriers, fostering economic empowerment, and creating sustainable platforms that celebrate Black excellence and cultural identity.

Under her leadership, the Afro-Caribbean Alliance has become a dynamic hub for advocacy, partnership, and progress—bridging the gap between communities, nurturing young leaders, and championing social and economic justice. Okama continues to inspire through her integrity, vision, and unwavering commitment to collective empowerment.

To unlock the full potential of the shared African and Carribean Heritage such that by 2025, aligned with the International Decade for People of African Descent, the societies of Africa and the Caribbean are positively reconnected on the pillars of Recognition, Justice and Development and the overall enhancement of the human condition.
